Director-Mrs. Catrina Hurst

My name is Catrina Hurst and I am the owner/director of Cole’s Castle Learning Center of Performing Arts. Our mission is to provide quality education in a safe environment. I started my childcare business in 2003 in the lower level of  my home and expanded to this center two years later. Caring, nurturing and providing for children is our number one priority. Our children receive tender and loving care from the gentle age of 6 weeks to twelve years of age. I believe it is very important for all children to have an opportunity to learn and receive  positive instruction on morals, respect, lifeskills, education, values, etiquette and ethics regardless of their ethnic or social status. My mother often sacrificed her life,  for my five sisters and I focusing on the importance of having a well balanced, christian,  academic and socially structured life and has instructed me to do the same. I am  truly grateful for the growth of Cole’s Castle which has expanded from an in  home daycare to a flourishing Center of Performing Arts.  Our curriculum, courses and classes are geared to each individual level according to age and need. Interacting daily with our children and families has promoted a strong union as we continue to build solid and lasting relationships.  The annual activities and programs consistently involve all children, parents and staff on a regular basis. These activities  include Dance, Drama, Choir, Art, Sewing/Fashion/Modeling, Teen Mother's,   Christmas  Dinner, Scholarship Fashion Benefit, Family Picnic,   Graduation ceremony, Clothes Closet, Penny & Food Drives, Transportation Service, Internship Programs, Entrepreneurship , Counseling and Mentoring Programs,  Proms for Mom's, Parent Resource Fairs,  and other  events to pull in our males like our annual Dad vs. Dad Basketball game . We are voted "2013 Best Eastside Employer" by Eastside Community Network, Honored by Wayne State University as "2013 Woman of Wayne and honored by Miss Oprah Winfrey as a "2010 Community Hero"! For more information or if you would like to be a part of our “Royal Family”  please leave a message in contact us and we will gladly add you to our waiting list. At this time due to Covid-19 we are not operating at full capacity to ensure the safety of the children and are not accepting new children at this time. When a spot is available, we will contact you.
